Reflection on what I’ve learned this semester

This semester was definitely an improvement from last semester. Although we ran into a bit of an obstacle due to the Coronavirus, I still pushed myself to be better than last semester. Overall, I learned how to better manage my time and organize my assignments. This, in turn, helped me score higher on my assignments because I was able to plan ahead and put more effort into each assignment. I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to organization and time management, but I still did better than last semester. I also have a lot to learn about how to avoid procrastination, but I also feel like online school held me accountable for getting my work done in time. Overall, I would say that I achieved my goal this semester because I improved my grades and learned better time management and organization skills.

This week I noticed rhetoric in my life when I was editing my argumentative paper. Our second rough draft was due, and I was thinking about taking out a specific part of one of my arguments. I replaced it with an argument about Caliban being a “noble savage,” and had to further expand this argument to persuade people to side with me. This required me to use phrases like “Although in some capacity this seems correct due to the fact that he has never lived in a real civilization, Shakespeare writes him as more of a noble savage because the audience can see the prevalence of his basic intelligence throughout the play,” in order to create a persuasive argument.

This week a few stores opened back up in Texas, however, I will remain practicing social distancing in my home.
