Rhetorical analysis of one article I will use in my paper
This week we began writing our thesis statements for our upcoming argumentative paper. My paper persuades readers to side with Caliban, from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, as more of a victim than a villain. I used examples such as “he was physically, mentally, and verbally abused by Prospero, and Prospero killed his mother.” The uses of these examples to establish rhetorical persuasion stemmed from a Prezi that I found when I was initially researching my topic. Rhetoric is used in this Prezi to establish why people think he is a villain, and then use evidence and persuasive techniques in order to persuade the audience otherwise.
This week I noticed rhetoric in my life when my mom persuaded me to make banana bread for the 3rd time. I have made a lot of banana bread over the course of the quarantine, however, it gives me something to do and it is being put to good use because my mom eats it for breakfast every morning, so I did not mind.
The Coronavirus “shutdown” is still in place, however I did go out for the first time this week. My mom needed eggs from the store and she had me go get them. I wasn’t allowed to go unless i took the necessary precautions and wore a mask and gloves.
